Position Summary

 

The Gas Utility Engineer will perform work on projects that are part of utility infrastructure improvement programs including replacement of aging infrastructure or system expansion and upgrades.  The qualified candidate would be encouraged to work towards a leadership role.

 

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the successful completion of assigned projects, on time, in scope and within budget.
  • Monitors work for compliance to project requirements, client standards, applicable regulations and industry and engineering best practices.
  • Ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Support the development of project schedules and forecasts for scope, budget, and resources.
  • Efficient implementation and utilization of available project resources.
  • Coordination and QA/QC of engineering deliverables
  • Development, distribution and when necessary, dissemination or presentation of periodic and as-needed project status reports.
  • Support the preparation and submittal of all applicable Federal, State, County or Municipal permits.
  • Experienced in reading/reviewing design plans for linear infrastructure projects.

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in gas utility design working with various engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering degree is required.
  • Professional Engineering license is preferred.
  • An ability to effectively solve problems within a specific time frame.
  • Ability to work with a team, take directions from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details and follow work rules.
  • AutoCAD experience required.
  • MS Office proficiency and effective communication skills required.
  • MS Project proficiency a plus.
  • Must be able to travel to assigned areas to meet job requirements and be able to work outside traditional work hours when required.
  • Travel required – 20%-40%
